Brokers and fees
Every trader has a broker personality; fees come out of StarBux on trades.
Real brokers route orders and charge commissions or spreads. StockSt assigns a broker personality to each trader. That broker’s fee is added when you buy or sell.
Always include the fee in your max shares math: affordable shares ≈ wallet ÷ (price + fee).
If no broker is assigned yet, wait for assignment (or refresh) before trading — orders need a broker path.
Takeaways
- Fees reduce how many shares you can buy.
- Broker assignment is part of the simulation.
- Compare fee vs trade size — tiny orders feel expensive.
