Selling shares
Sell only what you can: available shares move on hold until the sell order matches.
The Sell tab shows how many shares you can sell. You cannot sell more than available shares. Broker fee still applies on the way out.
When you place a sell, those shares typically move from available to on hold until the order fills. That prevents selling the same shares twice.
Have a reason: take profit, cut a thesis that failed, or rebalance. Panic-selling every dip teaches the wrong lesson.
Takeaways
- Sell quantity ≤ available shares.
- On-hold shares are reserved for open sells.
- Write down why you sell — it improves the next trade.
