What is cryptocurrency?

Digital assets recorded on a blockchain — StockSt has no crypto market.

Cryptocurrency is a digital asset whose ownership and transfers are typically recorded on a blockchain — a shared ledger maintained by a network rather than a single bank. Bitcoin and many other coins trade 24/7 on crypto exchanges, not on the same equity book as stocks.

Crypto prices can move quickly. There is no company “earnings” in the stock sense for many coins; value depends on adoption, technology narratives, regulation, and market demand. Custody (who holds the keys), fees, and scam risk matter as much as the chart.

Crypto is a different asset class from stocks. Owning a coin is not the same as owning shares of a company (or a StockSt celebrity listing). Some products mix the two (for example crypto-related stocks or ETFs in real markets), but the underlying risks still differ.

StockSt does not have a cryptocurrency market. There are no coins, wallets, or crypto order books here. StarBux is virtual currency for educational share trading only — not a real cryptocurrency. Practice research and risk sizing on StockSt listings, and treat crypto as a separate topic for the real world.
