Portfolio Pitch Shark Tank

Communicate an investment strategy and respond to scrutiny.

StockSt uses fictional currency and simulated shares for education only. This is not investment advice.

Setup

  1. Each team pitches a StockSt portfolio to a panel of classmates acting as skeptical investors.
  2. Each pitch must include the target investor and risk tolerance, the portfolio allocation, two investment theses, the expected return and main assumptions, the maximum acceptable loss, rebalancing or exit rules, and the simulation disclaimer.
  3. The panel asks each team at least three questions, including one about downside risk and one about behavioral bias.

Scoring

The panel selects the portfolio it would trust to manage money responsibly, not necessarily the portfolio with the highest simulated return.

Teacher debrief

Ask the panel which question revealed the most about a team’s thinking, and ask teams what they would add to their pitch next time.
